The purpose of Life is serving the least of these. There is no other purpose.
There is no other source of Joy. Joy is the CERTAIN fruit of fulfilling our purpose.
All else is Hell. The purpose of Life, Marriage, Parenting... is NOT PLEASURE.
EVER. Ever. The purpose is Joy, from which Pleasure is a poor distraction
and substitute. A whore. A pimp.
The purpose of Marriage is that two people can better serve the least of
these our family.
The purpose of Children, of having children, if there is a valid purpose is
explicitly to benefit the least of these Our Family.
The purpose of Children is to perpetuate Joy, Service of the least of these
Our Family. Period. PERIOD.
The goal and measure of Parenting success is the degree to which the child
is JOYFUL, and inversely, the degree to which they are NOT addicted to
or desirous of pleasure.
